At the 2026 ISKCON Governing Body Commission (GBC) Annual General Meeting, a historic and inspiring initiative was officially launched for devotees worldwide. ISKCON’s Book Distribution Minister, His Grace Vaisesika Dasa, announced the Global Bhadra Purnima Project 2026, calling for the distribution of at least 100,008 complete sets of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
The announcement was made during a conversation with GBC Communications Director Parijata Devi Dasi, where Vaisesika Dasa shared the vision, growth, and spiritual importance of the campaign.
A Growing Global Movement
The Bhadra Purnima Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam distribution initiative began in 2017 and has steadily expanded year after year. What started as a focused effort has now grown into a truly global movement, with devotees from multiple continents participating enthusiastically. Remarkably, participation has even been reported from Antarctica, reflecting the worldwide reach of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books.
For the past five years, the movement has been consciously working toward achieving a six-figure distribution target, a long-standing aspiration within ISKCON’s book distribution efforts. With 2026 marking this milestone year, the GBC is now strongly encouraging unified participation from temples, yatras, congregations, and individual devotees.
“Crushing Ignorance” Through Transcendental Knowledge
Emphasizing the deeper purpose of the campaign, Vaisesika Dasa described the effort as a collective mission to “crush ignorance” by widely sharing the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the natural commentary on the Vedānta-sūtra and the ripened fruit of Vedic literature.
Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam stands at the heart of ISKCON’s philosophical foundation, offering timeless guidance on devotion, spiritual identity, and the ultimate purpose of life. Distributing these sacred texts is seen not only as outreach but as a direct service to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission.
Call to Unite for Bhadra Purnima 2026
With strong backing from the GBC, the Bhadra Purnima 2026 Campaign is being presented as a moment for global cooperation and spiritual unity. Devotees everywhere are encouraged to plan ahead, mobilize teams, and actively participate in making this historic goal a reality.
As ISKCON moves closer to Bhadra Purnima 2026, the call is clear:
come together, distribute transcendental knowledge, and help illuminate the world with Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
